New chainset, new derailleur?

I'm replacing a double for a triple crankset. Can I keep my old front derailleur?

Best advice I can give is "suck it and see"
Some double front FDs will have enough throw, some won't.
Or if it's an old bike with a 28.6 seat tube, let me know and I'll bung a NOS one that will definitely work a triple in the post to you. My last reorganisation revealed several spares.
