Hi.
Just on the outskirts of town the council have spent some money on much needed work on road surface improvements. They have also painted a nice thick white line on the sides and created a bike lane. The road is now silky smooth to ride on but to my disappointment the cycle path is now being used by cars to park on :-(. Along the stretch of road is a busy primary school which the cycle path would be a god send for the little ones to use ,but sadly it's now being abused by motorists. It's not just the odd car either. I counted 10 cars parked up in the space of around 100 metres. What makes me mad is the fact all the houses a adjoining the road have driveways but it seems to be a culture nowadays that a household simply can't live without less than 2 cars..The traffic wardens seem to just ignore them which i find very frustrating considering it's supposed to be illegal. I have felt like leaving a note on the offending windscreens but it would probably just fall on deaf ears.I think what was the point on the council spending all this money when it's not policed properly for its intended use to keep children cyclists safe on there way to school.
Rant over and time for a beer :-)).
