New cyclist - I just bought a B'twin Triban 3 red road bike

From the online specs, I assume it has a triple crank set (three chainwheels at the front) so you will have a better gear ratio than most (other cyclists on road bikes) to get up the steep hills of London.

Was about to say the same - triple means wider gear range (in general) and nice low bottom gear when using that 30 granny ring.

A friend of mine who is working over in denmark has a btwin, so iv not seen it in the flesh, but he has had some good strava adventures on it.

Great starter bike, will also take mudguards and a rack if needed.

The triban has a good range of gears making hills easier but at the end of the day its your fitness that determines how fast you go up hills.
