New Doctor Marten's noise problem

I havethree pairs of DM 'Gaucho' boots in various states of disrepair. I was experiencing the same problem. I took the left one off, then the right.
When walking, I was still creaking - it was time for a beer!
I have a few friends who squeak too - but I know that is down to the tightness of their 'arris (tweed.)

I've just searched the interweb, and the most popular suggestion appears to be to fill them up with pee and leave them to stand overnight.

Threepeesmcginty does that with the holes in his brogues every time he pops to point Persimone at the porcelain!

Yeah, because then you won't wear them again, so no squeak! Whatever you do, don't use cat pea.

Try giving them a spray with WD40

Just some MBT shoes, took about 2hrs to get used to them, now wouldn't wear anything else.

Fortunately I can tell the difference between the two, even when they are both wearing DMs.
