new forks help please

unfortunately he recently suffered a brick wall/bike interface, resulting in knackered forks,looking on ebay I found these as a replacement..

now I know they are not expensive but after being out of work , family etc money is tight and he asked me if apart from looks is there any reason these wouldn't do the same job..

I don't know .....so.....what is the opinion of the cyclechat collective.

The Planet X ones are horrible heavy lumps of steel

I am probably wrong here, but it does say the PX one is Threaded. But I have no idea if the bike headset is...
