I’ve found that you can save quite a bit on some helmets by buying an unpopular colour. The Specialized Airnet I bought recently in Matt black was about thirty quid cheaper than the same in white or blue/white.

I bought last year's color of my Bontrager Stavos on the clearance rack at my LBS for half off! Not the color or style I would have chosen but it fit the best and is well constructed.

I very much agree with everyone, try them on first! It is so hard, even within the same brand the same sizing can fit differently (I could not wear a Bontrager S/M in the one model I tried because it was too small, but the one I ended up with was a Small that felt bigger?!) I must have tried on a dozen helmets and was going to give up before I walked past the discontinued table.

What is the difference between these two helmets, one is with MIPS and one without but what does that actually means in terms of function, safety, etc:

I already have the red one and I can honestly say its the best helmet I've ever owned in terms of fit, so much so that I'm thinking of buying the blue one - I'd just like to know what the difference is.

Thanks in advance for your help.

MIPS was explained above no?

However, the most important thing is that it fits your noggin properly and is comfortable!!

Merlin charge for returns, so unless you’re sure and don’t want to spend £6 or whatever returning it, try and buy in store

Thanks for that - I've added a bit to my question - already got the red one and it fits great, so thinking of getting the blue one.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

I suggest you read the extremely long helmet thread, as long as youre prepared to have preconceptions challenged.

TL;DR? The answer is Absolutely None.

And four offs? Bloody hell! What are you doing?
