I was very much hoping to find some interesting goodies when I moved into my house, given that the previous occupier had been there since 1969.

Sadly, it would seem that the only thing she kept any massive quantity of was old carpet and flowerpots. Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of flowerpots. Oh, and the paper sacks you used to buy potatoes in.

The neighbour also reckons I'll find a load of Yorkshire terrier bones in the garden that she apparently dug up from her last home and re-buried when she moved in. Suffice to say I'm not in any great hurry to claim this exciting inheritence...

A telescope that was left set up in the attic to view through a skylight. I contacted the previous owner who admitted he had forgotten it but couldn't be bothered coming back for it.
I used it a few times then sold it on eBay.

Two 'gentlemen's magazine' stories...
When I was a young chap, some interesting examples of said literature used to appear behind the fence at the end of our garden ... thee stopped appearing when the middle-aged couple next door moved out... just sayin'...

Borrowing (while attending a wedding) the house of a friend of a friend, I found a stash of such literature fairly inexpertly hidden in the airing cupboard (where I was looking for a towel). :okay:

When exactly did @Pikey have the words "Doing it horizontally" added to his signature ? Perhaps the dvds may provide some useful guidance.

I remember finding some dodgy magazines round the back of the hot water tank in our first house. We bought it off the Police Authority so some feeble pun about the boys in blue might be suitable.
