New hybrid under 500 or used

Currently looking for a first bike for journeys mainly on roads and occasional bridal paths. Wanting to spend around 400 and debating buying a used Boardman comp or new carera subway or sirrus

I'd go for the Boardman or something lighter if mostly on road. The Subway is a bit of a bombproof lump

Have a look at the Decathlon 520 given your budget, very good new buy. It is very much a roadbike though. How often will you be off Road?

Have a nose in a local Ridgeback dealer if there is one near as they may be able to source 2017 disc braked hybrids;
