The Dualit toaster is making my Philips kettle look well manky.

I'd like a quality kettle, chrome or matt/brushed metal finish. I do not want a rubbish one so don't give me any Asda/Russell Hobbs/Morphy Richards et al recommendations. I've looked at the Dualit range in John Lewis but whereas I can see and appreciate the design features on their toasters, I can only see bog standard, boring but v.expensive kettles.

Don’t get a Dualit one if you heat a lot of water. You can’t open them do refill if still hot and you can fill via spout which is pretty crap

This is swish

Can you still get the lazy person's dream of WiFi kettles anymore?

Best I’ve had. Good for decent tea and fresh coffee where you need water off the boil.

If you grind your own coffee beans and make "proper" coffee:

Note: you are supposed to use water at 85C to pour over the beans.
It's quite fun using a normal kettle and trying to turn it off at the right temperature as it comes up to the boil. I aim for ninety one degrees and check with an oven thermometer after I've switched it off. Yes, it is a bit daft.

So what did you do with the £450 you saved .....

...... Not getting me a fridge magnet that's for sure.....
