My white macbook has started to die, it keeps switching off and I've asked the IT guy who provides support for our office and he says it's more than likely a logic board issue which would cost £400+ to fix. He recommended that a new notebook would be the way to go.
So, my choices are the bog-standard Macbook or the 13" Macbook Pro. I'm in favour of the MbP, mainly due to the fact that we had an inner and outer casing replaced under warranty (well, 2 years after the warranty ran out) so I'm leaning towards the aluminium unibody. I know that the new white Mb's are unibody construction too, but aesthetically the MbP has it for me. Any tips on how I convince SWMBO that it's worth the extra? I think she's part way there to be honest, but if anyone's got any advice on whether the MbP is worth the extra over the white Mb then I'd appreciate it.
