Carbon fibre... LMAO!!!
My new machine arrived earlier last week!
She's a 1952 Singer 201k. Absolutely immaculate condition and running beautifully. ^_^

Those old Singers are bomb-proof. When I bought a new modern machine everyone warned me to keep the Singer just in case. And I have.

We used to have an old Singer at work:

My sewing machine is my mum's old one, I two or three when she got it in 1961 for 35 guineas:

Owner of a 1941 electric Singer 99k here :hello:

I've also got a few hand-crankers that are way older. They still all sew very well, but the shuttle spool ones aren't so practical for big projects. My "every day" machine is a late 1960s Pfaff Gritzner.

Don't have anything newer than that...

Back in the late 60s/early 70s my good lady was the area demonstrator/teacher for Singer sewing and knitting machines.
