Pretty sure they have one in Cardiff too.
Yep it's next to the Apple shop in the St David's centre. They have a good range of bikes on display and knowledgable people to answer daft / no so daft questions like what type of BB is on this frame etc.

Might have to visit a friend in Birmingham. Certainly more appealing than a trip to Preston (distance!)

I've never heard of Ribble but used to live in Birmingham and remember it well. Checked out some of there stuff and it's tasty.

In the "I know what I'm doing hierarchy" (IMHO):
5. Specialized / Giant / Trek - I know its worth spending the money, so I went into a bike shop and bought one of these
4. Bianchi / Pinarello - I've heard of a few bike makes, and I've heard that this one is better than others
3. Cinelli / Orbea / De Rosa - I've been reading a lot about bikes, and I know that these are respected amongst serious cyclists
2. Boardman - sold by Halfords, but that isn't going to stop me buying one of the best bikes for the price.
1. Ribble / Planet X - you probably haven't heard of them, but they are British, and have a value that is as good or better than more international brands.

Yes, the value (& ability to build exactly what spec/lengths that I wanted) helps

I guess another part of my choosing Ribbles, is still a slight touch of messing with the 'badge-snobs', hence why I drive a Skoda Octavia

I have a 'blue' winter/audax (as they phrase/advertise it), & a Gran Fondo
(considering replacing the 'blue', with a CR3)

On both counts (car & bikes), there's still plenty of people, who in the case of the Octy, & opine about the VW parts in it - or whatever

I tell them they're a cut-price Audi, as follows
Not long ago, a work collegue was considering a new Audi A4 'All-Road'
It wasn't listed at the time - prices from memory - not looked at them as I write

But, working on the normal (front-drive) A4 estate, the cheapest model (1.2TSi??) was about £28.000
Elsewhere in the 'VAG', a 2.0Tdi (140BHP), 6-speed Octavia Scout (same as a lot of Ambulance Services use as Responder cars) was about £27,500

Later, she told me that she's been quoted £36,000 for (roughly) the same spec A4 All-Road

I believe she's foregoing the 4 rings, saving the money, & having the black head-dress badge

I once went onto a parts website to find something for my Octavia. The part was about £30. The same part with the same part number, just advertised as fitting an Audi, was £15 dearer.
