Hi everyone!
I'm new to cyclechat and hoping to be an active member of the cycling community. I recently started road biking and love it! I am hoping to do the London-Brighton ride in the summer and would be great to get some training advice. I am based in Stanmore, NW London so if anyone is coming by this way give me a shout. If there are any regular riders in this neck of the woods, it would be great to go for some rides together (although not sure I'll be able to keep pace  ).
Cheers
Rakesh

Hi everyone, I'm Haydn and I'm from Yorkshire. I've been back cycling (mainly commuting) for about a year and just purchased a new cx bike (the Boardman cx comp) which I hope will get much use over my creaky cheap Apollo hybrid its replacing... Bought the Boardman because the Apollo's axle bent (after a new wheel too) probably due to my 20+ stone. Hopefully the new cassette Boardman won't suffer the same fate! The new "baby" is taking some fettling but its getting there!

i got back into cycling about 10 years ago when one day my motorbike broke down and I had t o dig my bike out to cycle to work about 9 miles and realised/remembered how much I enjoyed cycling, ang guess what the motorbike has stayed unrepaired in my garage ever since

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun
Hello thanks, the reason i joined is for advice?

Greetings.

I have posted a couple of times but thought I would say hello.

I joined principally so I could wave to other CC'rs - I'm the fat man in the Ilkley kit gurning to and from Skipton to Leeds. I have concluded that the homeward head wind rain sodden climb up Addingham Bypass then onto the Cringles is akin to an MC Escher print and thereby an infinite loop, where I can smell the Taylor's Landlord at the Kings Arms but never make any progress towards it or my long abandoned home.

Hello all,

I'm living in Munich but originally from Ireland. I've always loved to cycle and I've been bombing around on fairly crap mountain bikes for years. My ideal day is to get up early and cycle off to someplace I've never been before and see what I might find along the way, then arrive home wrecked but delighted.
