As a frequent tyre checker I find this as well though I must admit it rather puzzles me. (not complaining)
Objects will only embed if a specific set of conditions it met. Firstly, the point pressure between the tyre and the object needs to be high enough to puncture the rubber compound. If it merely deforms around the object and then reforms, it won't penetrate.
Then, if an object does initially stick in the rubber it will often be just flicked out again by further wheel rotations, not pushed deeper in. The amount of debris that actually sticks in the tyres is only a tiny proportion of the total amount the tyres encounter.
One reason rear wheel punctures tend to be two or three times more common over long periods/mileages, is that the higher ground pressures on the rear tyres due to weight distribution, are enough to allow more objects to pierce the rubber rather than just deforming it.
If I wanted to increase my puncture resistance further I would go M+ on the rear tyre only, but stick with regular Marathon on the front.
