Hi All

I bought my Giant Defy 1 back last Oct. I love the bike easy to ride etc etc. The question I have is , is it worth upgrading my wheels? I current have Giants Pr3 wheels which came with the bike.
I have read lots on the subject of wheels but would love some advice to is it worth it and which ones to go for.
Cheers
Andy

What would you want the new wheels to give you? What's your budget?

Similar post here, and others in that section too

I have some 2013s Fulcrum 5s on my Genesis, they seem very good, but I never had any particular concerns with the Giant wheels on my previous Avail 2

I've just replaced the wheels on my Defy 2.... I had a problem with the freewheel on my stock Giant wheels as it was making a racket as I'd ridden it in all weathers every day through winter (and cleaned them with a pressure washer ) LBS did try to service the freewheel but said there was a limit to how much he could do.

So I've put Fulcrum 7's on it.... I reckon they might be slightly heavier:sad: than the stock wheels but long term with sealed bearings they will be far more durable and reliable than the originals which was the whole point of the upgrade as my main mileage is commuting.... LBS supplied and fitted with new tyres (schwalbe somethings....can't remember but I've used the same type for a couple of years) for £165 so thought that was a good deal as wheels only were about £140 on line....
