I've seen a massive uptake in jogging this last year specially by woman, I live on a mainish road and everyday they jog past my house, over the last few months I've seen 3 women get better and better, faster and faster...one is a largest woman who started off walking and now jogging, if anything its what motivates me to keep exercising and keep fit....
I joined the beginners course in a running club last September, 15 ladies and 5 blokes started. There's now me and another guy, and six of the ladies left.
Some of them haven't exercised for a long time, and as IOTCB says you can see them getting better and better, and they're obviously proud of what they've achieved, they can all now complete a parkrun without stopping.
There's a girl who joined the club a few years ago who's now lost eight stone, and currently training for her first ironman this year.
Anyone who starts to execise, be it cycling, running, or the gym, should be encouraged, everyone of us was a first timer at some point.
