I've never avvaarrrr been to NYC or any other part of USA (I feel like I've been missing out on something with all these 'oddities') but I think in UK the limit on certain over the counter drugs is a feeble attempt to reduce/prevent OD.

Don't remind me. When my shoulder was bad, I'd have to go to one pharmacy to get one set of pain killers, then another to get some other ones - wasn't taking them at the same time like.

Only Irish type bar I've been to in the States was the one in Down Town Disney. Parts of it had actually been shipped over from Ireland ! The food was of a good Irish style. Even had Irish dancing !

It's 8am just had breakfast in a small corner cafe, The Morning Star, on the corner w57th and 9th avenue. A HUGE plate of pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, and unlimited coffee. Luvverly. You get a lot of food on your plate wether you want it or not!

There are waiting periods and permits, if you're acquiring your gun legally. Times and conditions vary from state to state. I am not familiar with New York's but the gun laws there are quite strict. Only in your addled imagination could you buy a gun legally, over the counter, in New York and half an hour later burn someone down with it.

so feeble it's had a significant impact on reducing overdoses of paracetamol.

I'm not a 'big' city person, but NYC is amazing... went once a couple of years back, will definitely return.

as for observations... i saw a fair few of these:

surely if they squashed the cans, they'd only need one bag???
