Ah, ok. I must admit, I'd have liked one, but heard that they have stopped making them or something?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimi_... "Jimi" Heselden OBE,riding his own Segway PT.
Because the bloke that owned the company rode one over a cliff & died as a result, he owned Hesco Bastion, on the Cross Green Industrial Estate, Leeds, that made the mesh system that you fill with rubble that makes a secure military compound, they made a fortune from the M.O.D, especially during the Afghanistan war, they even had a private air display from the Red Arrows as a thank you once ! I did hear his son took over & forgot to renew the copyright or such, loosing them a fortune as anyone can make it now!

Zoom. I know it's still fairly popular, but at the start of Covid it was all anyone talked about, and became one of those words that was used to describe a generic term but was really a brand name. A bit like calling all vacuum cleaners "Hoovers". But now we have MS Teams and Google Meet. In my NHS, Teams is the default, and in my smaller off-shoot of the NHS, Meet is mandatory

I remember working at a company that used a now defunct Verizon zoom-a-like product called BlueJeans. Can't believe that it got launched with that name. Also can't believe how blasé people got with saying things like: got to go now, I've got a BJ with....

I suspect you are already the most motionless of the two us. Possibly you were born old or you have just aged fast. None of these excuses about trying to fit in. You are just being you 🤣

I have no idea what you are drivelling on about, but then, you always were a bit sarccy anyway.
That said, thinking about it, that must be all that you have left as you sit there, miserable, in your incontinence knickers and sucking your Murray Mints/Werthers Originals, waiting for the end, as the dementia starts to kick in and you wonder if these really ARE your teeth that the nurse has given you back after cleaning them in the dishwasher 🤔😆

I remember Bluejeans. I never heard anyone refer to it as BJ

Can you still buy digital cameras these days? I suspect you can, but they were not the big thing they were anticipated to be, because of cameras on mobile phones.

Yep, I still use mine which has 25x optical zoom, and I can bluetooth the photos to my phone. I do find myself not taking it on trips though, as for 70% of the time, the phone will suffice

Bit harsh. The event itself was a huge success. No white elephant stadiums.
All venues are still in constant use so someone must be using them.
The sporting bounce was only ever going to last a few years.

Apparently there are difficulties with the accommodation that was then sold off as flats/ apartments.
Something to do with the cladding makes them difficult to resell.

I mentioned those in the original post (although I think I got the spelling wrong).

My Mum had an SLR version (made by Canon), very unusual I'd wager and I now have it somewhere as I realised this.
Very nearly bought the Minolta Vectis, whilst on holiday. Shop was shut when I went back to buy it.
They also had their own series of lenses, which didn't work with any of their other cameras. Enquired and tried to buy one when I got back, but no luck.
Glad in a way now that the shop was shut.
