Imagine windmills and electricity had come together in the 18th century and where we would we be now. Imagine the electric car took hold in the early 20th century, instead of being suppressed by oil interests. Where would we be by now?

As a slight aside, there is a very good sci-fi book, Pavane, which explores an alternative history of England in which reactionary Catholicism had suppressed all but the smallest internal combustion engines so road transport is based on large steam traction engines.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
I went to (only) one 3 D film. Horrible experience. I could only watch it by closing one eye. I can't for the life of me think why I stayed rather than walk out.

I went to the cinema to watch a Rugby international live in 3D years ago. It was all a bit weird and didn't seem to be working. My mate nudged me and said "upside down", I looked around and half the people there were wearing the glasses upside down. It was a kind of meme going round the cinema. I tried it and it was no better.

I can't think why live sports events in 3D in cinemas didn't catch on.

I didn't know real people had them

I thought they only existed in hotel rooms.

I was just about to say the same thing.

Aha! 😂

Although apparently they are being tried again, or recording eg Meta Smartglasses. Good way for others to get you credit card pin just jy watching you at a card terminal, or your phone unlock code, etc. and all without you realising you're "on Social Media" appearing without consent ...
