(I think I've covered most of the bases there - do let me know if I've forgotten anything!)

While on holiday in western Canada I soon became aware of tensions associated with driving as I was taken to various city centre locations. Will there be a parking place, why doesn't that ***** get out of my way etc.etc. After just a little research at the nearest shop I discovered there was an excellent local bus service which ran all day and late into the evening. This service was a lot less stressful than being a car passenger, I even persuaded my cousin and her husband to use the bus when we went out for a meal one evening. I asked the 20 something year old daughter of my cousin why she never used the bus, "Buses are for losers" she informed me, and she meant it..In North America, unless you are in some kind of "heritage location", I got the distinct impression that pavements were only for complete losers.

Ah the mean streets of Kensington...A life lived in fear and all that, what a nob.

I regularly have to go to Basel and Holland for work and love the public transport systems, i just wish we could do something similar here. The last bus on a Sunday on the fabled Busway in Cambs leaves Cambridge at 17.40! Even on a Saturday they stop running at 23.30 which is not even late enough for a cinema visit. While on holiday in western Canada I soon became aware of tensions associated with driving as I was taken to various city centre locations. I may have to leave CC. The Daily Mail is just too much fun!! And while I'm firmly in the bottom half of the intelligence table on here, I'm like a God over there!!I love the Daily Mail comment section. One of the best works of comedy in the English language.
I may actually want it or is that not allowed?2178764 said:Any bids for a quality Sig line?
I'd go further than that and say most folk are simply bone idle lazy.If I can ride a (fully loaded touring) bike 1,400 miles around Germany, then there's no reason people cannot walk or cycle short distances.
They just don't want to, and hate being 'advised' to do it.
Oh come on Adrian. It's a website just crying out for your skills!2179056 said:It makes me feel dirty just looking at that stuff.
