Nice looking Jag spotted yesterday

How old, how powerful, how much juice does it sup and how much is it worth? 🤔 It's not another 'I'm thinking of buying this car' thread by the way. It's far too long for me and as I'm already grumbling about my tenner a week diesel not going as far as it used to, I just would not fancy fueling this 'beast'! 🧐

Looking at this pic, it might've been sold when new in nearby Blackburn, but isn't that a Northern Ireland number plate? 🤔

I had one of these when I was 22-23 years old, I didn’t quite anticipate the running costs, probably 12 mpg if I remember correctly. Mine was the slightly earlier version to the pic above, a 4 year old 1985 B reg V12 5.3HE in Sebring red with TWR styling. At the time I thought it was the bees knees 🐝

I think it was around about 290 bhp and had a top speed of 148 mph.

Years ago you couldn’t give these cars away but decent ones are sought after now with a much greater value.

@Accy cyclist that will be one of the last ones made, jaguar stopped production in 1996.

Mine was very similar to the pic below.

Running costs would be horrendous, you won’t get far on £10 of petrol, about 20 miles ? Lol
Plus all the other costs, parts, maintenance and insurance etc.

If you’re worried about fuel consumption and running costs you’re missing the point. :becool:

A used Dacia Sandero is the car for you.

Taking on something like that is not for the faint hearted, old V12's are notoriously temperamental to keep in tip top running order.
