Did they say SMIDSY or did they just think the pass was not a close one?
Professional drivers should know better.

Worth complaining to the employers, as he may have - or may develop - a history of this which could corroborate your account.

You gave him the chance to accept your advice politely.

Tweeted to his boss who has followed me but not replied.
He said he'd done nothing wrong, but next time he passed me (lots of lights so I got in front again anyway) he gave me a massively wide berth, so maybe I had a positive effect in the end

Grass him up to his bosses. Ambo are some of the worst out there. Even the properly trained driving responders live in a world of their own when it comes to the rules and regs they still have to observe under blue lights - ok, they may well be rushing to save a life, but that doesn't justify endangering someone elses life in the process.

Ambo are least likely of the services to 'close ranks'. They're a civillian organisation manged by - usually - non clinically qualified managers and pen pushers, and that sort of office wallah loves nothing more than standing on a drowning mans shoulders to keep their own heads above water. you know the sort, the ones that never ever contribute anything useful or productive to society themselves, but who are nevertheless happy to **** over those who do.

I tend to agree, with my limited acquaintance with drivers.

We had one as a neighbour, a right plonker, thought he knew everything, he used to snitch to other neighbours and make up tales to cause aggro, but the street soon sussed him out.

He bought a small motorhome, not much bigger than an ambulance, but he struggled to reverse it up the drive, I often wondered about his "professional driving".

If an ambulance is on blue lights I will do anything not to impede its progress.

Not on an emergency its just a van.
