Kind of doesn't surprise me in Macc. Mind you there used to be a milkman who used a horse and cart in Wilmslow until a few years ago.

How about chicken rissoles? I used to love chicken rissoles! If I'm honest Birds Eye, I really don't think crispy coated chicken breast is quite the same.
Invacars - didn't they come in Black too?
Trains and buses that could operate in extremes of weather.
long hot summers (miss those)
Funny Faces (maybe they do still sell those? I don't look in the ice cream fridges much these days)
Shops where not 'Everything is out'
Shops that aren't self service.
Old bobbies on the beat (they are all so young now)
Bobbies Whistles (never hear them - assuming they don't have them now)
Police boxes
AA/RAC Boxes on remote roads
Gallons.
Tiger tails on the end of whip aerials

We used to travel from Hampshire to Essex quite often about 30 - 35 years ago (yikes) and each time Mum and Dad would decide if they should drive "through town" which was right through the middle of London or "go round" which was going around the North Circular (this was way before the M25).

This got me thinking about cars.
In the 60s 70s and 80s cars were very basic. I owned lots when I was young, doing them up and selling them or just changing them to try another model out.
Often you bought cars without a radio in and had to put one in yourself. This involved fitting the aerial by drilling a hole in the wing of the car.
I also used to fit sunroofs myself, getting one from a scrappie.
You could get and fit heated rear windows which was a sheet of plastic with the elements on it that you stuck on the window (and it fell off after a while).
Halogen spotlights were a must and you needed lots of Davids Isopon to fill the rust holes. I know you still can get it but you dont have the rust holes now.
