I found this on my local newspaper page today and it makes me feel frustrated. I drive a car, walk and mostly bike around, but the law seems to me to say 'act impulsively or badly in a car and you get different treatment'

Any thoughts?

Quite sickening, yet again.

What do you have to do, in this country, to get any sort of punishment if you are a car driver.
Avoid paying a fine... they'll take your car away and crush it. Anything else and it's a few meaningless points.

I'd happily see cars being taken away and crushed for dangerous driving.

Lets hope his Insurance hammers him after her claim and that if he decides to do without insurance they jail him for that. ( a much more heinous crime than nearly killing someone) :cursing:

There should be a new offence along the lines of GBH with a motor vehicle, you hit someone and are at fault, whether accidental or not, then you get charged.
