Is there a Bicycle in it? If not I won’t be watching it.

There is a contract with the viewer in this type of film which appears to have been broken.

THAT, I think, is my feeling. We know it's preposterous. We know much about Bond is problematic these days. But one thing we love about Bond is that we know what happens. It's reassuring, especially in increasingly dark days. Whatever happens next, it will be a stretch of the imagination and maybe more than I am willing to suspend my disbelief for. I can't see any need for it to have happened.

I really enjoyed him working alongside the two female agents, I thought both situations were really well handled. And the Cuban girl was amazing! The series could easily have evolved without this ending.

My bet is he'll turn up unscathed in a rubber dinghy at the start of the next movie

I imagine it will be difficult for the writers to declare that James Bond is just a code name for an agent, rather than being 007's real name, as haven't we delved into Bond's past in previous films, such as Skyfall, which would make those films "wrong"? I rather hope that that's it and there's no more. It wouldn't be a bad way to go out, was a decent film.

Can I take it that Bond actually dies then, or will it be a repeat of the first part of Skyfall?
Well, he survived getting shot & falling about 200ft into a river, not drowning while face down & unconscious, then miraculously turns up boozing at a beach bar ....seemingly with money etc.

I found the whole timeline of Craig's Bond strange.
SPOILERS!!!....

In Casino Royale he earns his 00 number at the start by offing the mole (a spy not the small burrowing mammal) then later there's a 9/11 reference. So if he's the new boy and it's post 9/11, that logically means all the other Bond movies never happened since he was an established agent in those. Odd that they kept Judi Dench as M, who comes from the Brosnan era.

They've obviously decided to go along with the old interweb idea that James Bond isn't his real name. I mean, this is a bloke who goes into bars looking for trouble and keeps casually introducing himself as Mr Bond - not very incognito!. And 007 is just a number, we've met other 00 agents before (one dies at the start of Octopussy)

When Fleming originally conceived the idea it was a single person but after 60 years of films with 5 different actors it’s a bit hard to keep that story going.
So I’m very comfortable with it being an operational pseudonym given to various special agents who fill that role.
In the same way that M and Q change.
Same name, same role, different person.

The pseudonym for different agents idea really spoils the fact that every waiter/receptionist /concierge in all the top hotels and restaurants around the world immediately greet him when he walks in.

I disagree, M and Q are the code names for their jobs, not the person, therefore you can have different people. 007 is his code name, so again you can have different people being 007.

Therefore you can make 007 whoever you like but James Bond you can't.
