I have thought long and hard about what was said over the past, I've not complimented her nor flirted with her, that is because she does not "flick my switch", looks don't come into it. I had no knowledge of her marital status, that is because I was not interested, if I was (& single) I would have found that out pretty damn quick. How I speak to her is no different to how I speak to the male colleagues that I am "tuned into" and I manage not to flirt with them well enough........... her sex doesn't make any difference to me in that respect.

In this time she has not complimented me, I would remember, nor do I recall her flirting with me, I would have noticed.

Other female friends at work have my number, texting is how they contact me, I don't do FB or any social media stuff.

I went and saw her today, after my shift as I am coward who spent all day worrying and thinking of what to say. I explained (aka - blurted out) that I was happy with MrsF and didn't feel comfortable spending any time at all with her outside of work and a date, as she has proposed, was absolutely out of the question. Of course she asked why had I given her the number and we went around in circles for a bit. She is divorced, single, she had seen the number as my green light to her and I apologised. It ended ok...ish..she sent me a "Thanks for telling me" text and that is it, can't see us getting back to "friends" again but at least it's sorted.

That's what I asked you too
Between this thread and the harrasment at work thread I'm so glad I never worked in an office environment.
In catering we are more straight forward:
Colleague: wanna be my fancy woman?
Me: but you already have a girlfriend
C: aye, but 'ts ok, I don't live with her
Me: nay, I don't share.
Still work pals 8 years later

I work with hairy engineers all day so I don't want to bang any of them anyway. Easy.
