Following my recent post (thanks for all the pointers) we have got a short list of 4 cottages that tick all (or most) of the boxes.
I realise its all personal choice but as I don't know Norfolk at all I would appreciate any comments from those who know these places and surrounding areas.
Some of the names sound made up

Heacham............this is on the North, near the Wash.
Little Snoring.......also in the north. Near Fakenham and some 15 miles in-land.
Aldborough..............about 10 miles below/in land from Cromer
East Bilney........just above Dereham which is on the A47 (TBH probably to far in land but a possible)

To reiterate..............we like walking, bird watching, site seeing, I like cycling,
we like the coast, fancy a day or 2 cruising on the broads (we did think about a week but that
idea has gone)
Thanks again for any input.

I don't know Aldborough but I'd say Heacham is the best of the rest for the described interests: coastal (but northwest coast rather than north), good walking, OK cycling, two bird reserves (Snettisham and Titchwell) fairly nearby, on the coast hopper and fast bus routes... but it is an hour or so from the broads is the one drawback.

Probably the best choice - just a few miles up the coast is Hunstanton, where Fatbirds is located
