Holkham beach is pretty good if you like miles of empty sand bordered by pine woods, with galloping horses.
Cley is bird-central.
Wroxham is a centre for broads boat hire.
There is a railway line from Cromer to Norwich, passing through Wroxham.
Coasthopper bus stops all along from Cromer to Kings Lynn. Really useful for one-way walks, eg Burnham Ovary Staithe to Wells.
By bike, all locations will give access to the coast. If you are using a car it doesn't matter. If your family are using public transport, that is a deciding factor

Cromer all day long for me. Stunning town, welcoming people and plenty of places to visit and ride to on hand. Not riding on your hand though, that'd be difficult and painful.

I'd definitely pull in a daytrip to Wells, it is easy to get to by the 'Coasthopper' from either Cromer or Kings Lynn. The coast road itself can get a bit 'busy' so it is OK if you're used to traffic but a bit daunting for nervous cyclists ( I'd ride it fine but Maz wouldn't like it)

its a narrow busy road too..id be wary of biking along it ..but there are some nice pubs , so plenty of contemplation stops lol

There's not much point riding the coast road far either, as there's parallel single-car carriageways mostly on top of the chalk ridge just inland, from Ringstead to Salthouse, signposted as NCR1 and RR30something except where it goes mad and onto mud track south of Wells (there's a by road to Wighton I'd use instead). After that I think it gets a bit bencher but the coast road is a bit quieter in the northeast too.

I had to right-click and Save Picture to find out who that was meant to be. I thought it was Neil Diamond...
