we had a bit of a change of plan.
I ended up doing some silly business travel, Dubai, Greece, London, Dubai, London in the space of three weeks so was knackered before we even started.
So we took the Harwich/Hook ferry, drove to to a campsite on a lake south of Wismar and set up camp, where we based ourselves for 10 days.
we then did a series of day trips, some of bikes and some not.
We basically cycled from Schwerin to Wismar, then around Poel island, on to Kuhlungsborn, almost to Rostock and then around Stralsund
total mileage was under 150 miles
it's a nice area and we are even looking at going back, but if we were to do the same thing again, I think I would have based ourselves on the mainland near to Stralsund, so one could do Rugen island and the "best bit" of the Baltic coast, the bit between Rostock and the Polish border
we are also now looking at the Copenhagen to Berlin route
