Look out for the Northern Lights this evening, if the skies remain as clear as they have been all day we should get a good show.

Lead skies here and usually just too far south (have seen them once in my lifetime), but do enjoy.

Funnily enough, my ex best mate's ex wife is staying with us next en route to the north of Norway to hopefully see the NL!

She'd be better off staying at home, or popping up to Scotland!

I did see the Northern lights 2 years ago in Kittilla, Northern Finland and they are the most amazing sight I've ever seen.

When I was in Canada on exercise, we used to just lay on our backs looking up at the sky knocking back the "Labatts Blue" as the Northern Lights displayed above us, if we drunk too much as well we woke up in the same postion.

A few years back though, I did see them whilst out on patrol one night at work and that was in East Yorkshire

You don't have to go that far. My mum grew up in a croft in the west Highlands and saw the Northern Lights lots of times.

I once saw them when driving along the M4 between Bristol and Reading, late at night about 25 years ago. Quite incredible, just glancing across and seeing the shimmering green curtains.
