Can't get rid of an image of someone coming down a fast decent, slamming on the front brake and going A over T when a car pulls out suddenly.

How will it send a signal from the lever to brake if the batteries are flat?

This looks like the basis for a power-brake - like in motor vehicles, where the brake would not fail (entirely) even if the servo fails. The actuator(?), item 40i, would just need to be installed in a floating way, so that it could be pushed to the left by the break lever, to provide a fail-save, non-power backup.

I doubt once your AAA battery is flat the brakes stop working, just like a servo in a car, if that stops the brakes still sort of work
Not a good idea if the brakes are less effective than you are used to. Rather like when you see an e-bike rider with a flat battery.

Just another thing proving because you can doesn't mean you should.

Never seen that as far as I know, mine rides perfectly fine if the battery is switched off
