It's unnecessarily magnanimous of the cyclist to say that he wouldn't like to see the driver lose his job. I'd like to see him permanently disqualified from driving.

Those kind of close overtakes involving long vehicles always make your bum twitch which inevitably leads to swear words. Had one like that today.

The company manager who was shown the clip was horrified, the driver should be traced, named and shamed. That was quite deliberate.

Family-run Forest of Dean Caravans has been criticised after a video was posted on YouTube of one of its vehicles narrowly missing a cyclist.

The driver has since been fired from the company after decisive action was taken by the company.

Today I my self had 5 close calls. I have noticed though it's always as I head out of town or coming back in.
Are motorists really in that much of a hurry? Think I need to get a camera my self!!!

Jon has contacted Lancashire Constabulary to report the incident, but hasn’t heard back from them yet.

It’s the second time he’s contacted police over video footage of bad driving, and he told us on the previous occasion they did speak to the driver involved.

If you look at the URL's you see that the police are inquiring and there dosnt seem to be much going on. Until the next article I suppose but who knows when that will come.

You must ride track or off road? I do get a laugh when I see people cycling on pavements suppose that's another way to stay clear of cars. I don't know a single roadie that dosnt find motorist a problem. Regardless of how vigalent they are. One of my close calls today was a woman pulling out of a car park looking the wrong way. Secondly was on a hill climb I waved a car passed me on a streight and some idiot in a tt came screaming passed me and the person in front taking a blind bend at speed and yes a car came round the other way.
I'm not labeling all Motorists all I'm saying is if your out on the open roads people will try take risks if you only a soft fleshy thing holding them up on twisting roads.

Close passes that ignore the Highway Code are tremendously common and probably the single most dissuading factor, it's stuff like that that scares people off bikes
