All the best managed shows like the Wings and Wheels at North Weald have the aircraft flying well away from the crowd.
I wouldn't doubt it, or the organisers taking every effort to keep the watching public safe, risk assessments, insurance cover, etc.. Similarly every effort will take place at full size air shows, but there have been tragedies at those, fortunately very few have involved any crowds. It wouldn't stop me from going to one though. I'm sure we could both imagine a knee-jerk reaction if there were any incidents at a model air display with a large public audience.
I can see part of the problem being that they are models, in that you really want to be a bit closer to see when in the air than would be needed with the full size versions.

The SR71 airframe was made entirely of titanium.
Not quite, 85% was titanium. It couldn't be filled with fuel on the ground due to it leaking like a serve when cold. They had to take it supersonic to heat the airframe up the then fuel it up in the air.

Start Cart for those planes had a Buick Wildcat Engine, actually, 2, IIRC. The tanker , a KC135, had to be rebuilt, both plane and refueling boom, so the plane could refuel at its maximum airspeed. It had to have 2 seperate fuel systems, because the SR71 ran on JP-7 in flight, but was started with Triethylborane. KC135 runs on richer fuel, hence the 2 seperate fuel systems.

Big boys and girls toys, more like weapons of mass distruction.
Only the B-52, which starred in one of my fave films of all time "Dr Strangelove"

This is the final scene in which Major Kong (Slim Pickens) pilots the last remaining B52, with its nuclear load encounters problems with its bomb doors.
