Going to a fancy dress party for NYE, the theme is "70s and 80s sophisticated disco"

Who knew, sophisticated discos in the 80s. The ones I went to were mostly Bros, Duran Duran and lots of MD 50/50.

Any ideas what to wear?

I am thinking white jeans and tacky shirt, with a white denim jacket but open to more creative ideas!

For classy then either Miami Vice - Don Johnson or Magnum PI - Tom Selleck

Or push the boat out a bit further and go as Boy George or Adam Ant

Hmmm white linen suit kinda thing? Yeah I fancy that. Maybe a pink tie.

Frankie or Choose Life 2 shirt is my reserve plan

Pulling through
In the '80s we travelled to exotic Warrington to get our fix of bands no-one's ever heard of. On the way to the station we'd pass Mr Smiths where The Hitman and Her was filmed. All the lads wore white shirts, chinos and hair gel. Pete Waterman wore a suit. At the time I thought he was worse than Satan. I was a teenager. When I got home I'd turn The Hitman and Her on the telly. Michaela Strachan was alright. I was a teenager.
