Some don't use valve caps at all, I think that's a 'I'm hard me' type of thing, you know like not wearing a coat when it's cold.

It's like hire cars. I realised why they don't have valve caps when it occurred to me that it saves a lot of time when checking all the tyre pressures. These guys are also in a hurry.

The odd thing is that despite my condition I still have no qualms about not keeping the bikes clean. The hybrid hasn't been cleaned in around 18 months apart from a quick blast from the garden hose after a gritty, wet trip on the TPT.
