OCD is a terrible thing......

I found an online test to see if I had OCD. I took it and it turned out I didn't. I got the same result the other 276 times I took the test too.

Snagging buildings for faults that the builder has to correct before handing over to the client can raise issues....
Our sub cons hate it when I go snagging . the consulktants (sic) and clients love it . especially the paperwork side.

I have created a monster!

Last night my oldest (10yr old) son and I were swapping the tyres on his 'new' (just finishing building from used bits) bike when he asked me to make sure the tyre logos were lined up with the rim stickers

I didn't think I had ever mentioned it to him but I obviously have at some point. I then proceeded to tell him how the rim sticker is usually directly opposite the valve and the midpoint of the sticker should be at the rim joint (either a weld mark or pressed joint). We discussed this and together decided that the 'S' of Panaracer Smoke should be lined up with the joint on both wheels for the best results.

It was one of those special father-son moments that I will look back on fondly in years to come.......

I do hope that on mounting your bike the logos on each wheel are at the same point of revolution?

And whilst riding you stop at frequent regular frequent intervals to ensure that the wheels are still aligned and if they are not then line them up again? Due to uneven tyre wear this is a likely problem and to minimise it the tyres should be swapped between wheels before each ride.

During audaxes and sportives I do check other riders bikes to ensure conformity and frequently have to point out that their wheels are out of sync. They usually laugh nervously and comply with my request although oddly I rarely see them again after that.
