I've seen bizarrely priced stuff like this before which makes me wonder if there is some twisted reason behind it.

Sometimes it's because there are free/discounted listings, which are then free to re-list.

Or maybe they just sell odd stuff. Someone near me's listed MBT valve caps.

I found an animal skull once when I was out walking the dog, I gave it my step-daughter, unpainted. I didn't get £85.

There was a tv thing a few years ago where some joker tested eBay to see what he could get for old rope!
He got money.

I'm sure some people do it for a dare or a joke. But there are some genuine fruit cakes out there who think they can get £100 for a knackered veneer sideboard with cracks in it.

The bottle caps? No idea. I've heard of things being out of stock so they list it/them for ultra high £s rather than remove the item and paying to relist
