Whatever the genuine reason was in the first place,to give them this technique of overbooking,however legal it may have been,has now it seems been taken advantage of,and is now just a scam to make money.
Do they make it clear on booking,that if you dont get there before a certain time,you might not get the flight because of overbooking?I know about the normal time that is needed to be allowed,but why should you go even earlier,?It seems unreasonable to make it a game of roulette?
They never inform in any way... And anyway, they would not work if they ONLY open on the times they are supposed to(known by @ll) and NOT before that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was under the impression that they could bump you off the flight up until you had checked in. When you'd checked in you were on that flight, you've got a boarding pass by then.
How does this apply to online checkins? And if they can still bump you then what is the point of checking in?
