I've just ordered some items from a retailler I have never used before and I got this in an email.

A whole zero points, if I spent more would they have deducted some?

That’s nothing. My wife’s credit card has got my e-mail address attached to it so I can deal with any admin stuff. They sent her a note about a competition- it said “Don’t forget to enter Hazel!” Never has an email subject been more in need of punctuation.

There was a lottery series of the scratch-and-win tickets here years back which had an astrological star signs theme going each month . Come June, Somebody in their marketing department thought the slogan “Cancer is a great gift idea!” was appropriate.

Every online bike shop I've bought stuff off recently has added me to their mailing list despite me leaving the box unticked each time. Why have said box if it has no function?
