I was thinking about trying to get tickets for some track events/finals but not at £50 a go.
How much would you expect to be paying?

Given that they'll be so over-subscribed for many of the seats that there will be a lottery, if they made the prices £5 instead if £50, you're chances of getting a place would be slim to sod all.

Personally, I would happily pay £500 for the only opportunity to watch the Olympics in a venue under a kilometre from my front door.

Perhaps by the time the tickets go on sale I'll have more disposable income to spend and be more enthusiastic towards it all.

Comparable (?) prices for other 'sports' this year:

wimbledon (1st week) £ 35
wimbledon final £110

british GP £129 to £259

uefa champions league final £150 (minimum) + £26 service charge (!!)

NFL stupid super bowl £ no idea but would be many hundreds, if you could get a ticket!

I was fortunate to go to winter olympics this time last year and starting prices for General Admission were in £15 to £20 range. I thought this was a bargain! A seat for final of Giant Slalom had face value of £75 (I paid much more!).

I'm with Norm here, it all seems reasonable. Some are cheap and some, for popular and final events, are expensive. Yet compared to others I've listed, which all occur annually, they are reasonable. And if £20 is too much, there is always the Mens and Ladies Road Races which are free for the most part!
