Honestly, I'd be thankful for not receiving anything in the post! I spent my whole trip trying to cut down my load. Even the number of pairs of socks I carried was carefully rationed. I'm sure I could have found a corner for oxo cubes and tea but please don't send anything unless you're really sure it will be welcomed.

I did think about sending a brick but cost might put me off. I had a helium balloon sent to me abroad one christmas, it cheered me up to get what seemed to be an empty box and then have that float weakly out after being cooped up for so long. It made it to the ceiling in a low room.
I appreciate not sending too much but if there is anything that was surplus or unwanted they would make sure it got a good home somehow and that'd be fine with me.

That's lovely. So go for something that can be used, consumed or enjoyed immediately. Or maybe a photo or letter that can be carried with them.

Savlon is currently saving the day with my leg wounds at the moment, so I will second that one. Wonderful Stuff.
Marmite - on a sandwich a day, keeps the mossies away... (they don't like high vitamin B content in your body and it really does work)
