I've been pondering this indicator issue, and I've realised it's most dangerous when cars turn without using mirrors, and most frustrating when you've got a good bit of momentum coming up to a roundabout and some bugger doesn't indicate so you have to stop, only to find out that the buggers were turning off anyway!

Not on my way to work because I'm unemployed, not this morning because it was yesterday and not actually in the morning, but I came across 3 foxes in various parts of South East London. Not one was remotely bothered by me and my bike. I wondered whether they'd all been going hungry in the wet weather and were taking advantage of a couple of hours mid-afternoon foraging while there were few people out in the streets.

This morning an Audi estate car stayed patiently behind me until it was safe to overtake. I gave my customary right thumb-up as a thank you to the driver, who then did the 'hazard lights-on' for a few seconds as acknowledgement. Never had that before!

I was patiently waiting to turn right into a junction when I heard a weird kerthunky-squeak-grind and it turned out to be a Gary-boy who had decided to mount the pavement with two wheels rather than wait behind me to pass!

I spotted Mr Origamist this morning. Top end of Tooting Common across the junction from where I was stopped. He did recognise me and we managed to wave and give a thumbs up before his lights changed. He had pretty much a 20-30 second headstart on me by the time I'd moved off so I suspect he was already down somewhere by Waitrose ;-)

Worse when cyclist do it I'm afriad.

little is more annoying than waiting for a cyclist (on a clear road)to ride up and pass your junction only for them to turn into it at the last moment...without signalling.

really enjoy that kind of communication...I am absolutely positive that some of us (in cars, on bikes..whatever) actively seek opportunities to interact this way. I've often had a cars pass me on the hill at the bromley end of the A21 but have held back at the numerous pinch points before doing so.

As we mutually thanked each other I could almost feel the next car lining up behind whispering ...my turn!
