I was heading into Huddersfield at dinnertime, en-route to ‘Huddersfield Royal Infirmary’, having gone via Wakefield, Horbury Bridge, along the A642, past the ‘National Coal Mining Museum’
On dropping down onto the A629 (possibly Wakefield Road, at that point), a familiar site came into view
It seemed wrong though

A Citroen 2CV, in green & white
However, it was a pick-up!!
The bed looked to have wooden sides


I’ve seen vans, indeed one used to park a few hundred yards from our house, but l’ve never seen a pick-up before

I'll plump for replica, the wings look like GRP rather than sheet metal. It certainly looks the part though, wouldn't say no to that in my Christmas stocking,

Possibly one of the SS100 replicas built by Suffolk Sportscars who were based just up the road from me between Woodbridge and Wickham Market.

It's funny, when I was younger, I'd have loved an MR2 or similar small sports car but never had the money.

Nowadays, my first thought when I look at any car is "can I put my bike in the boot?" Sadly an MR2 would fail that test!

Brompton on the front passenger seat I suppose.
