No thanks, bloody awful cars. my first company car back in 1985 was a Metro City and my girlfriend had an MG Metro, both cars were complete shite.

My friends Metro is a bit fruity but there is no room in the rear for passengers or your big shop 😆

I think it shares around 36 parts from the hearing aid beige version, even the headlamps are slightly different ! Engine was a cut down version from the Jaguar XJ220 super car

Pretty sure I saw this car this afternoon, Daimler Double Six, same colour, H reg, just outside Peterborough.
A rare sight indeed, and shockingly, even it looked smallish against modern saloons let alone SUVs.
Just pootling along around 50mph, I would wager it was a smooth as silk

Iirc the 6R4 engine came first, and the XJ220 engine was a derivative of the Metro's. Made the 220 even more difficult to shift than the climb-down from the concept's V12!

Correct Boney. The rights to the 6R4 engine design were purchased by TWR, who did a lot of work on the breathing and upped the capacity to 3.5 litres. From there it was first used in Group C Jaguar racing cars, and was later used in the XJ220 with blowers after it became apparent the originally envisaged V12 would be too expensive to develop.
