I had a L reg.mini van, a wreck of a thing in the late 1970s perhaps. The rust crept all around those light bezels...causing the headlights to nearly fall out. I bodged them with fibreglass

I had two 80 a 2.0 petrol and a TDI. Both 90 iirc.

Great cars bombproof but dull!

Did the A4 replace the 80 ?
I used to drive one occasionally (A4) when they first came out (P reg) , a 1.8 but can't remember if it was a T. Certainly looked different, felt very well built...but as you say, dull. And heavy on fuel it seemed to me...but then perhaps the tank wasn't very large ?

They quite often have a few of the old ones parked up. No idea how good or bad they are.

Yes the A4 replaced the 80. And the A6 the 100.

I had a A4 2.6 v6 that was lovely car. A random electrical fault finally scrapped it. The vag specialist couldn't get to the bottom of it. Wouldn't mind a 3.2 A6 allroad! 🥰

Yep, was a Ro80. The old boy that owns it was quite chatty, tells me it's been rebuilt with composite steel-ceramic rotor tips.
