Fantastic!

The Mk2 Lotus Cortina was made in house by Ford and not by Lotus, so technically the Mk2 is a Cortina Lotus and not a Lotus Cortina. That one is a pearler, probably worth some serious dollar.

None of thr Mk2's left the factory with a stripe, but dealers were only too happy to have them painted on and separate the buyer from even more or their hard earned.

Many years ago, the Transport Department, at the Hospital I work at had Tempras (or whatever the 5-door hatchback was called) as general runabouts, ie; lab samples/post/medical records/xray packets between sites

Iirc it was the Tempera, we had a 1.9 TD estate and christ, it could easily wheelspin in second gear (not sure i should admit it  )
It seemed all those 1.9 turbo diesels on Fiats, Citroën etc in the 90s went like absolute stink

They came on boost rather suddenly, so nothing, nothing, nothing, woahhh was the form (at least it made you feel like you were driving something fast!) Used to love driving my 405 bitd.
