Those new Stingrays are relatively (careful use of word!) cheap and the look isn't excessive when compared to Italian peers, but not sure I could get over staring at that steering wheel for any period of time. Defeat from the jaws etc

The RS1800 was built in very small numbers, so people who can afford it will pay whatever it costs to get their hands on one of the survivors.

For that kind of money I'd rather have an Aston Martin V8 Vantage,or you could probably get a nice Capri and still have change for a Lotus Esprit.

I think 108 were built how many are in original road spec ?

I read an article in a classic car magazine a few weeks ago, can't find it now though, it did have the numbers but I can't remember.

When I was in my early teens, a neighbour had a 1600 Sport, in a rather nice green
Not the 'peppermint' that seemed to be predominantly on Capris, or the LNER (railways) 'apple-green', but somewhere in between

The aRSe 2000 was very disappointing. Pretty understeery until suddenly it wasn't, slower and quite a bit less powerful than the 2.3 Firenza, the Dolly Sprint or even the contemporary Golf GTi.

It showed how low the bar was set, how easily pleased we were back then that such tepid mediocrity was considered so desirable.

I had the RS Mexico when I was 19/20....still seems mad that I could afford to insure and run it on an apprenticeship wages 🤣
Run it into the ground I did....bodywork was rotten.
