There was a mk3 Astra there with a Calibra turbo engine turned up to 11, which was impressive. Sadly the car had been to the Lax Mower school of style and no self respecting chav would be seen dead near it so I never bothered with a picture.

Far better, with a V8 :okay:

A much under rated classic - I had the 12v V6 auto version.

The Thema's must be a rare beast these days

I'd lay a small bet that it's the 8.32s that have survived in the biggest (still tiny) numbers

The classifieds suggest you're right. Mainly 8.32's, with the odd turbo thrown in for good measure. The most powerful turbo variant is more powerful than the 8.32, but doesn't have the same cachet I guess. Id love one of either.

I do hope these count as classic cars. The photos were taken at a charity track day last Thursday. The first is registered as an Adley Ausin but I think it's an Austin Westminster - feel free to correct me. This one is somewhat famous as it has appeared in several classic car magazines over the years.

Registered as a Jaguar XJ this beautiful vehicle is a fully restored SS Jaguar 100, complete with Swallow Sidecars (SS) emblems on the windscreen hinges. It is powered by a 4.2ltr straight-six Jaguar engine which the owner was surprised to discover was used in many of the original CVR(T) AFV100 series of armoured vehicles.

I'd also lay a shilling that the turbot version handled better than the more mellifluous version because of the latter lump's weight and its location relative to the front axle

I think you have seen this before, a side-valve Moggie, but note it's completely original, down to the semaphore indicators. The owner could well be original, judging from a distance.
