Fitting windows and rear seats to vans was a fairly common pass time well into the seventies.

When my father was a butcher, & working in a shop in Morley (south-west of Leeds), he used one of their Bedford HA vans
That had a seat (planks of wood!) set on the wheelarches for me

My first job we would travel the length & breadth of the U.K & Ireland installing amusement machines & bingo gear, we had a Fiat Daily van with a settee jammed in the back, quite comfy, but not exactly compliant under construction & Use Regulations
