My first job we would travel the length & breadth of the U.K & Ireland installing amusement machines & bingo gear, we had a Fiat Daily van with a settee jammed in the back, quite comfy, but not exactly compliant under construction & Use Regulations

Seen a very red Scirocco today, haven't seen one in a long time. From the time VW built cars I actually liked!

Oh… I did so lust after one of those when I was younger and couldn’t afford it.

I’m currently shopping for a new car, the retirement purchase that I want to last. I’d like a gas “car” but living in Canada my options are extremely limited. It’s all SUVs, trucks and hybrids over here. I’m not interested in anything with a battery on board as I plan to keep it for a long time. I saw a gorgeous 3.5 litre Lexus sedan the other day, but the dealer tells me they only do hybrid sedans now.

dammit!

Batteries degrade at a slower rate than ICE engines wear.

Is that true ?
My IC cars have all got through quite a few batteries each and only a couple have had a even a single engine rebuild. And phone batteries last maybe 3 or 4 years

I take it modern traction batteries are a different technology
